BIRD WATCHING TOURS WITH CAPT'N VIC
My 18 foot flat -bottomed bateau is the perfect platform for accessing the mid flats, sand bars and shorelines of this area’s numerous wildlife refuges. there are miles upon miles on the backsides (soundside) of the refuges that even the refuge staff aren’t familiar with.
I’m also a fairly avid bird watcher myself and have just under 250- birds on my life list. Any time I’m exploring on my own I keep an eye out for bird watching hot spots.
WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect the unexpected.
This area is a funnel and staging area for virtually all the birds that migrate the eastern seaboard. New and exciting birds can migrate in seemingly at any given moment.
I provide the boat and knowledge of where to look. I also supply a cooler and ice. You’ll need to bring your own food and drinks.
This can be a harsh environment so prepare accordingly. You’ll want sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, rain gear, and perhaps some hip boots or wading shoes. I prefer long sleeves and pants year round for sun protection.
Finally, you’ll need to supply your own optics or camera gear. Essentially, I’ll show up with my own binoculars and Petersen’s Field Guide. Anything else you may want you need to bring.
RATES
$250.00/half day or $450.00/full day. Maximum 3 people.
