The shooting seasons are upon us again. Not gonna lie. it felt real good being in a duck hide again. Really good.
While we weren't over run by fowl on opening day (Nov. 9), there were good results and extreme visuals. What we did see, decoyed real well. Three blinds captured 28 fowl. All were puddlers. Teal and pintail were the most prevalent.
The most splashy result were the 18 teal by 7:30. it didn't hurt that the clients did their part. Got 8 teal out of one nice flock and 7 out of a second flock- another instance where a guide may want to tip their gunners.
The other guide tagged out on pintail with 4 and added a blue wing teal and a wood duck. i should have tagged a pintail myself but, of course, the twenty some pintail that landed all in my dekes……..did it when i had walked to where i had stashed my boat!! Sheesh! They got me again lol.
We have northerly winds forecast for the rest of the week so i'm excited for our chances throughout. i got guides fun hunting this early season who'd rather be guiding y'all. Give me a call and let us put y'all on some of our birds.

Did i mention i scored a three shot triple with a crossover bonus bird out of a 35/40 fowl flock of teal? Three shots for 4 fowl. on purpose, mind you. On the first shot i waited a hair till 2 birds crossed, then properly picked out individual birds with my next 2 shots….
Hunting by myself with the retriever so i have her as my back up to the event. I can truthfully say, "As dog is my witness".
Give me a call. Still have openings. 252 202 7842. Call anytime. This is what we do. Vic
